Principal Product Designer

Creating clarity in complex enterprise systems.

15+ years designing enterprise software, including a decade building cybersecurity platforms.

I help organisations untangle complex enterprise platforms by creating shared understanding across Product, Design and Engineering. My work combines product strategy, enterprise UX and systems thinking to help teams build products that scale.

How I Think

I'm usually brought into work that is complex, ambiguous or spans multiple teams. My role is rarely to design a single feature. It's to help organisations understand the problem, align around a shared direction and turn that understanding into products that scale.

Find the real problem

Complex enterprise work rarely starts with the right question. I spend time understanding how customers actually work, where organisational constraints exist and what is preventing teams from making progress. Often the problem we're asked to solve isn't the one that needs solving.

Build shared understanding

The hardest part of enterprise design is rarely creating a solution. It's helping people see the same problem. I use workshops, customer models and visual thinking to align Product, Engineering and Design before decisions are made. Once teams share the same mental model, progress becomes much faster.

Design systems, not screens

Interfaces are only one part of an enterprise experience. I think about operating models, permissions, workflows, governance and the relationships between products, ensuring today's decisions support tomorrow's platform.

Build for evolution

Enterprise platforms are never finished. Rather than solving a single request, I try to create structures that can evolve as organisations grow, products expand and customer needs change. The goal is to reduce future complexity rather than adding to it.

Experience

15+ years designing enterprise software

I've designed products across agency, healthcare and cybersecurity, but the common thread has always been the same: understanding complex organisations, aligning teams around a shared vision and designing systems that scale.

Each environment taught me a different aspect of enterprise design.

Agency

Agency work taught me to become comfortable with ambiguity. Every project meant learning a new industry, understanding unfamiliar users and balancing competing business goals. It gave me the ability to quickly identify patterns, ask better questions and build confidence in domains I hadn't worked in before.

Healthcare

Healthcare introduced me to large organisations where users, permissions and workflows were deeply interconnected. Designing for clinicians, administrators and patients taught me that enterprise design is rarely about a single screen. It's about understanding how information, people and systems work together.

Cybersecurity

Over the last decade I've grown from UX Designer to Principal Product Designer, expanding my focus from individual experiences to platform strategy, enterprise architecture and organisational alignment. My work now centres on helping teams simplify complex systems, create shared understanding and build products that can evolve over time.

Let's talk

If you're tackling complex enterprise problems, building platform products or trying to align teams around a shared vision, I'd love to hear about it.
